This was kind of like sailing! After watching the weather for several weeks, we saw what appeared to be an opening in the weather, just a day after we originally planned to go. Although we had to change our route, going several hundred miles further West to travel around one system in time to avoid the next system coming through, we figured we should have clear weather for most of the journey South.
So, we were off - well sort of off. While hitching up, we ran into a problem with our jack. The folks at Outdoor Travel were super and immediately sent a crew out to fix the problem so we could get underway. Outdoor Travel gets top marks in our book - excellent service. They even had our trailer dug out after a snow storm so we could leave.

That first day was cold. We hoped to camp at a KOA near Auburn, Indiana, but did not get to Auburn until dark - and did I mention it was cold? - not a good night for our first night aboard. We booked into a local motel and it was good see our rig from a very warm room.
We had our first night aboard in Nashville, Tennessee right next door to the Grand Old Opree. We would have liked to stay and see the sights but the weather was closing in the next day so we had to continue South. Besides it was still cold. However, with our trusty heater, we were toasty warm through the night - the extra insulation in this trailer does make a difference.
